Teaming and Communication:
We collaborated with each other to help make our bear website. Our team learned that if you work together you can accomplish most anything that you set your mind to do. Communicating with each other and building onto each other’s ideas enabled us to make the best ideas we could. It was not really easy to get along with our teammates, but we have gotten to know each other better and now get along well. Mrs. Wall-T really helped us understand everything about ISTF and that working together makes hard things possible. Our mentors have given us information that helped us put the website together.

Research and Innovation:
The Internet made research easier and quicker to find facts about our project. Our first idea was to make an electric dog fence to secure homeowner’s property, but after further research we found out that we may need to put a collar around the bears. That would not work, but an electric fence that encloses trash cans and dumpsters could be effective in keeping bears away. Our innovations were to use a motion-detector to trigger the electric fence and to scan the bear’s bones, but our mentor pointed out that this could cause too much radiation. Our research improved our knowledge of wildlife, nature, bears and their habitats. Our team has researched how to protect both bears and humans.

Three Lessons Your Team Learned During the Program:
1. It has made us more aware of problems in our community
2. We learned how we can solve everyday problems with technology and how to make a website
3. We also learned about problem solving, working together, and how to find a mentor
